2022 Sabine Hall Viognier
Viognier
The 2022 Sabine Hall is 100% Viognier aged in stainless steel. Less floral than is typical for Viognier, this vintage has aromas of grapefruit, pear, & grass on the nose. The pallet has a little more weight to it than other whites & is brighter, more citrusy, & round. High in alcohol, the wine is very well balanced by a moderate acidity & a small amount of natural residual sugar. Pairs well with poultry such as turkey, chicken, & pheasant, plus egg-based dishes.

Winemaker Notes
Due to its high initial sugar level, the wine naturally stopped fermentation with some residual sugar. As a thick skinned variety, Viognier has more weight to it than other wines, especially considering the wine was fermented fully in stainless steel and did not go through malolactic fermentation. High in alcohol, the wine is very well balanced by moderate acidity and a small amount of natural residual sugar.
Food Pairing Notes
Pairs well with poultry such as turkey, chicken, and pheasant, plus egg-based dishes.
